On the day of the wedding
Shiva appears in a terrorizing form, so
Parvati transforms herself into
Chandraghanta, wearing a moonshaped bell as headdress, riding a tiger and carrying all kinds of weapons, and persuades Shiva to re-appear in a charming form, saving her family and guests from fainting and terror.
She rewards people with her grace, bravery and courage. By her grace all the sins, distresses, physical sufferings, mental tribulations and ghostly hurdles of the devotees are eradicated.
She is honored at the third night of
Navratri.
