The creator.
As first of the
trimurti Brahma is the god who causes the appearance of the creation.
He is born from, and sits on a
lotusflower, sprouted from the navel of
Vishnu. Therefore he is also called
Padmasambhava (see
Narayana).
He has four heads, to watch all four cardinal directions. He carries the four Vedas in his hands; they contain the plan of the creation.
He is married to
Sarasvati.
