As second of the trimurti Vishnu is the maintainer of creation, who is omnipresent.
From time to time he incarnates to restore the divine order (dharma). The two most well-known incarnations (avatars) are Krishna and Rama.
Vishnu is also honored under the names Hari, Madhava, Mahadeva Narayana and Vishva.
His consort is Lakshmi.

Als tweede van de trimurti is Vishnu de onderhouder van de schepping, die overal tegenwoordig is.
Van tijd tot tijd inkarneert hij zich, om de goddelijke orde (dharma) te herstellen. De twee bekendste inkarnaties (avatars) zijn Krishna en Rama.
