Last season (2015) in Laxman Jhula my eye fell on a beautiful Ganesha. Yellow brass with colored stone inlay, red, green and blue. When I came home I went to have an afternoon nap.

But I did not fall asleep, instead I started to chant Jay Jay Shri Ganesha and I knew all of a sudden where the murti was going to be: just right from the backdoor, in front of a red brick wall, with a small roof of tiles, between the vines of grape, bramble and kiwi.
So then I had to buy it. Straight back to the shop where the salesman and me brushed him up with oil so that the colors shone beautifully.
 

Afgelopen seizoen in Laxman Jhula zag ik een prachtige Ganesha. Geelkoper, en ingelegd met prachtig gekleurd rood blauw en groen. Toen ik weer thuis was, ging ik even een middagslaapje doen.

Maar ik viel niet in slaap, in plaats daarvan ging ik Jay Jay Shri Ganesha zingen en ik wist ineens waar het beeld zou komen te staan: direct rechts van de achterdeur, tegen een bakstenen muur aan, met een klein dakje van dakpannen erboven, en tussen de druif, de braam, en de kiwi.
Dus toen moest ik hem wel kopen. Ik gelijk terug naar de winkel, hebben de verkoper en ik hem samen opgepoetst met olie, zodat de kleuren prachtig uitkwamen.
